Technical Oil Light Warning

Once again I have a problem. (Is it just bad luck or are these cars known for having soo many problems, so far electric seat doesnt work, never did, clutch plate knackered and now oil light).

2007 JTD 17,700 miles. Get an oil change done religiously every 3 months, anyway couple of nights ago the oil can light, starts flashing. Then goes out. Starts again 5 mins later. Get car home, check oil level, all fine. As I was due to have another oil change next week, decide to get it done early see if that helps. Change oil, light still comes on. Seems to come on only once in a while.

The only thing I can think of is as said before I get oil change done regulary, take down to Kwik Fit, I am pretty sure they will use a box standard filter and not a Fiat one, could that be the cause of the problem?

I've had this problem before when I used a cheap motor factors oil filter on my 1988 Uno Diesel (A while ago!). The cheapo filter didn't have a non-return valve in it unlike the genuine fiat filter and the oil light would come on and take ages to go off after starting. This might not be your case, you might have a dodgy sensor or loose connection by the sounds of it.
