Hi
Just had my 2002 Multipla JTD serviced by Kwik Fit.
Got the car back and noticed the temperature gauge (which is generally at 2 bars and rises to 3 occasionally) was very quickly up to 4 bars.
I also noticed that a new "oil level too high" message was coming on every time I started the car.
Took it back to Kwik Fit the next day. Having half emptied the oil, they showed me that even when the dipstick showed half full, the computer was intermittently saying "oil level too high" when the engine was started. They also ran the engine until the fan came on and there seemed to be no issue with overheating. Mechanic did tell me that the computer actually turned itself off at 5 bars on the temp gauge!
They told me that the car itself was completely fine, and that although it could be the sensors, it was more likely the computer and I needed to get an auto electrician to look at it - probably one hour's work / £50.
I had neither of these problems before taking the car in for the service, so...
Help and advice please!!
And many thanks in advance.

- How much of this could be coincidence?
- Might the mechanics have damaged the oil level and/or temp sensors?
- Is this a wildly positive view of how easy/cheap it would be to get it fixed by an auto electrician?
- Should I go to a Fiat dealer or an independent electrician?
- How do I find a good auto electrician in the Stockport area?
Help and advice please!!
