Wow that's a tough one , odd camera angle , not much background to pin down location......Also, could someone let me know what the attached part is? Appears to have a slight oil seep, just wondered if I need to replace.View attachment 210531
Great , let us knowDropped the plug and a good amount more came out. Going to roughly work out how much it was in total
Very well done, glad you can see a win when you get one.The level was about halfway between the two.
I drained about 5.2L max
I put in 5.4ish.
The dipstick is a horrible design so it smears as you retract it, but I think I can see the regular level at the bottom, which shows just under max now, the digital one still only shows 3 circles, but that goes between that and an 'oil high' message, so I don't ever trust it.
Going to let it all settle and check again in a couple of hours!
Seems a job well done, for once..![]()
Really that's a amusing oneYou may use either for adding engine oil.
The French designers added the more accessible oil
Filler towards the front of the vehicle under a French equality law enabling shorter persons to more easily operate commercial vehicles
I did change the filter, yes.Very well done, glad you can see a win when you get one.
Yes a job well done, did you change the oil filter?
The electronic oil display may read wierd at first with new oil and yes don't trust it implicitly.
Seeing the new clean oil on the dipstick can be a challenge , After a few miles the oil will darken and be easier to read.
By the way I was joking about the shorter person law, but the front filler is there to make putting oil in easier and less messy which I think is fantastique!
Correct diesel oil goes black quite quickly it is perfectly normal, diesel engine oil has additives to suspend the soot particles for this very reason.I did change the filter, yes.
The new oil was pretty much black by the time I checked it on the dipstick pretty much! That's an old diesel for you I suppose.
I think if I had let the engine warm up for a little longer, I'd have had more success with the 12V pump. 4L or so took 30 minutes to pump out. Just a tad slow!Correct diesel oil goes black quite quickly it is perfectly normal, diesel engine oil has additives to suspend the soot particles for this very reason.
