Hey Guys,

I have been hearing odd noises coming from my car when it is started from cold, the first one is a rattling sort of noise which occurs during idle when the car is in neutral, I am not sure if it also does it when the car is in gear however....
It sounds like it is coming from the gear box or something, however when the engine is revved it disappears for a bit and then when the car retursn to idle it will start again. It isnt a continuous sound, just on and off sort of thing - hard to describe without you hearing it in person!!

Any ideas what this might be?

Also, there is a whine/squeal when the car is revved from cold, I hear this could be something to do with the alternator belt?

Look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks,

Willber.

Yep it goes when the clutch is down, the idle RPM also increases ever so slightly when the clutch is down, when i release the clutch the rattle is back and the RPM's drop again....
