General Odd noise when driving at speed, anyone help??

Hi all,
i'm pretty new to the Punto side of things; did have a Cinq' for a while but have now upgraded...
Anyway, when i'm doing speeds of about 60mph+, a low intermittent groan type noise occurs. It sounds like it's coming from directly in front of me, but it's hard to tell precisely.
My initial thoughts are maybe a wheel bearing, or a balancing problem, but i don't know what either of these things sound like when they go wrong, so any help or advice would be greatly greatly appreciated!

hi, have you got directional tyres ? do they have a big arrow on the side of them or a directional mark ? both my car a punto mk2 and my dads car has directional tyres and its the directional tyres i duno y tho, just check coz it might be them
