FES will tell you what the Airbag ECU is being told ie passenger 'present' or 'not present'

wiring it up this way will show passenger 'not present' (the way i have mine wired up)

like you say if im hitting something hard enough to fire both airbags then airbag replacement would be the least of my worrys... i have the little one in the front most of the time so it get turns off anyway and if the mrs is sitting there and i have a crash its a bonus

So.... She can't read?...

well after going out in the stilo this morning the airbag warning returned (Fault 32)... im positive there was NOTHING wrong with my soldering so it only leaves the actual control PCB. after a panic-ed half hour i rang the MOT place to see if they would 'overlook' the Airbag and MIL lights on the dash... i was promptly told that MIL lights are NOT and NEVER will be an MOT fail and that the Airbag light ruling isnt happening before the summer!:bang:

all that messing around and worry over something that isnt even tested im ecstatic she passed but its bitter sweet... (im no allowed to say what i wanted to else ill get another 3 points on my forum license for excessive profanity usage)

Just look on the bright side Richy, you passed the MOT, aaand you gave info to the forum that you pass with the airbag light on (at least until summer as you say). I will be changing my OCS mat this weekend, and can send you my old one if you want to toy with it (still works from time to time, has a day on and one off, but now that I have the abarth dash when the light is on I can't use the dash at all, no trip computer no nothing ). Or if you fancy a drive to mid-Wales

PS: if you come over I can borrow you my old cluster as well as I remember you needed one for the dials or something. I've put it in the ads section, but I'm not too fussed about selling it. If it doesn't get sold, I can lend it to you

cheers andy... its a little too far for me ATM, im planning on getting an emulator before next MOT (i'll definately have to do something before next Feb). all i need is the electronics connected to the mat not the actual mat itself if you are just gonna bin it then i'd love to have a go at getting it working!

see if the clusters sell if not id be interested in the dial faces for sure but theres absolutely no rush for it, ive still got to break it to the mrs yet lol
