I THINK ive figured it out found a proper blurry pic of it floating around like a lost foetus on my HDD.

im guessing its

  • Black- Purple/Black
  • Blue - Blue
  • Brown - Blue/Black

found this on e learn

  1. AV
  2. AN
  3. N

AV/AN/N being the wiring colours im off to find the colour reference now:bang:

If you removed the OCS you will get an airbag failure anyway.plug it in just for the sake of it to see maybe there was no need to remove it in the first place. :p

i had an OCS and seat air bag fault present... Hence the work ill be putting the seat back together today and hopefully itll be in and Sorted by tonight

ive figured the pin layout to be like this:-
Image1.jpg

which means that on the Seat loom:-
  1. Blue
  2. Brown
  3. Black

and on MY car loom its:-
  • Blue
  • Blue/Black
  • Purple/Black

a few things i have learnt... DONT DO DIAGNOSTICS IN THE DARK!!!

this is now the TRUTH about my car

car loom has:-
  • purple/black
  • light blue/black
  • light blue/green

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH VLADOF!!!

i've been running round like Ahhhh tryin to figure this out... turns out i wasnt looking hard enough on eLEARN. I rang Fiat Auto Specialist Team just on the off chance they may divulge info on airbag systems and although they didn't have the info, a fleeting comment about ECU pins instantly sparked a new train of thought! so off with the kick panel off with the multi plug and locking casing to look at pin designations out of the ECU... sure enough Pin9 light blue/black and Pin 10 light blue/green. a slight look of  appeared before checking the car loom one more time... oh look light blue/black & light blue/green!

EPIC FAIL on my part many thanks to all who helped!!!

Final decision is
Pin 1:- Light Blue/Green > Light Blue on seat loom
Pin 2:- Light Blue/Black > Brown on seat loom
Pin 3:- Black/Purple > Black on seat loom

And there we have it. Now we know exactly how the wires go. :) It seems that endeed RHD is different to LHD in terms of wiring.

@Ricky: It was my pleasure mate. Anytime.
@ Dave: Why do you have the OCS connector if there no OCS? :)

Very observant of you Vlad.... (y) I didn't think of that when I took the photo this morning.

Using my VIN in ePER shows it as not having an OCS, and there's not an OCS label sewn into the edge of the seat cover.

Will have to check this further, but I'm surprised I've never had any airbag warnings during the 3½ years I've had the car if it does have an OCS.

Well you can start by unplugging the OCS connector. If you get an airbag failure then you know at least it's connected to something. :)

I wouldn't be surprised about not having the airbag failure. As previously stated, both my Stilos have the original OCS and none of them have any airbag warnings.. yet :) My car already has 135000 km on the dash.

DONE!!!!

lets show you lot my handy work!

26012012099.jpg

as the more eagle eyed of you lot might notice ive rigged it 'Unladen' partly cos my bro had my laptop last night and partly cos the only pic i had on my other comp was the unladen diagram. So its not ideal really BUT its extinguished the Airbag light and warning for tomorrows MOT (y) and thats all i REALLY wanted.

I dont want a big thing about rigging it 'off'... yes i know the implications of not having it on but ill have plenty of time next year to rig it 'on'... desperate times desperate measures

Well... The only "problem" with bypassing the OCS is that the airbag will deploy in case off a serious accident even when noone sitting in the passenger seat. So that's nut unsafe. Extra costly if it has to be replaced after a serious accident, but me think a Stilo will be economically totalled after serious damage anyway.
So no problem;)

gr J

like you say if im hitting something hard enough to fire both airbags then airbag replacement would be the least of my worrys... i have the little one in the front most of the time so it get turns off anyway and if the mrs is sitting there and i have a crash its a bonus ;)

So do all those resitors do exactly what the emulator does? Maybe it just gives the signal that the OCS is present but nobody is in the seat. Is there any way to tell except the obvious?:)
