General OCS help

That's a little bit low tech. :p (just kidding).

They must have dropped it because it was malfunctioning all over the place. Needless to say, both my Stilos have the original OCS and it seems to be working fine.

come on lads!

i need one of you to go and have a look for me...

on the bottom of the PASSENGER seat there are 3 connectors:-

  • connector one has a black and a red wire comming from the seat (Seatbelt clip switch)
  • connector two has a red, brown and white wire coming from the seat (OCS Mat)
  • connector Three has a black, blue and brown wire coming from the seat (Air bag unit within the seat)
i need to know what colour wires from connector 3 go to on the car loom.

the car has a black a blue and a light blue.

wiring diagram would be awesome (decks/dave/davren?) equally as adequate would be black-black, blue-blue, brown-light blue just so i know. some ill qualified spanner monkey just twisted the wires together and taped it up!

Do you just need to know what color are the wires beyond the connector no 3? (black, blue and brown)?

By car loom you mean the large bunch of wires that go under the carpet? :)

I can go and have a looksie now if this is what you want.

Wiring diagram is no use, it doesn't show any airbag related devices with Black, Blue and Light Blue wires. Closest it shows is Black, Dark Blue and White/Grey which is for the OCS. It also doesn't show different colours each side of the connectors. It assumes that as all the connectors have locating lugs, they can't be connected incorrectly.

Alright mate. :)

Here it is. For the purpose of not creating any confusions, I've uploaded the full size picture. It's gonna take a little to view it. :)

Let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Cheers.

I think they just used whatever wires were left in the storage area for these airbags. It really doesn't make any sense.

What year is your Stilo from?

Well the seat wiring is the same, so I guess light blue goes with brown, purple black goes with black and blue/black goes with blue. :) What's the worse that can happen? :p

Sorry I couldn't help too much. Maybe RHD and LHD are different. If this is the case, hold on a minute I have an IDEA.

The general cabling should be the same, so MAYBE, just maybe, the wiring on my driver's side (your passenger side) are the same.

I'll go have a look now. :)

looking at the car side of the orange connector

you have

  • black
  • green w/ blue trace
  • blue

i have

  • Light Blue
  • Blue w/ Black Tracer
  • Purple w/ Black Tracer

this orange connector is missing on my car and the wires were just twisted together with some insulation tape wrapped around them :(

car details are in sig ;) 2002, 1.6

I went out and took a picture.

Do we have a winner? :)

Jebus this is really annoying me now... maybe its because your is a LHD!!!

I already checked the driver's side airbag system. I did say I was going to do that before posting the picture. :) (post #30).

So the 1st attached picture is from my passenger side which is your drivers side, and the second picture is from my drivers side and your passenger side. :p

This is why the colors were different.

That's what I meant by cocoa as well! :yum:

Cheers.

Yes I did edit the post and it's a habit I will be losing from now on. I didn't realize you would reply so fast. :)

Yes, the wiring is different. We should probably wait for other fellow members to have a look.
