please can someone tell me where the OBD2 socket is on a 2006 Multipla thanks

right hand side of steering wheel, down a bit should be behind a removable cover, have you got the dreaded engine management light

thanks, actually on the steering coloum? or on the dash? yea the engine fault light is on!!

ahh its a new shape didnt read it properly, do you have a little tray near the door to put things in, if you have look for the cover there if not im not sure

cheers found it! all sorted i hope. turned the warning light off. fault read uneven gas cirralation in exhaust?

im hoping somebody will back me up on this is it a diesel, if it is that fault points to the egr valve, if you get the code again then i suggest cleaning your egr if it hasnt been disconnected. i think im right but not sure hopefully someone will confirm this

can you remember the fault code numbers should start with a p

the fault code is P0401 i think you seem to know what your talking about, well done. any idea what this would cost to replace. or is it easy to get to and replace yourself. cheers paul

i wouldnt replace it straight away as a common fault is blockages with soot and s**t, i am unsure on the new shape models as have worked only on a few, however if you could post a picture of your engine bay i can point you in the right direction, as for the code p0401 it means the egr valve isnt recurculating the exhaust gases as it should do, if you do a search on egr here you will find plenty of info, but if you post a pic of engine bay i can outline where it is for you, it is something you can do at home but not sure of prices i would clean it first. if you send pic ill add more info when we find it lol as for knowing what im talking about,, i do try lol

There was a link to a good guide on here about how to remove and clean the EGR valve. It had good pictures and instructions. I done mine around a year ago and by the time I had cleaned it and let it soak, it was like new. The light has never came on once since (hope I haven't scudded myself).
