I have sucessfully used MES and AlfaObd with BT and OBDlink SX usb interfaces for the past couple of years on my 2017 Ducato.
Still can with MES.
However Since a recent update Alfaobd no longer finds my engine module But defaults to 8FE CF6 EOBD (1.3 JTD).
Actual is Marelli 9DF CF6/EOBD (EP mot. 2.3 JTD) (also read in multiecuscan all ok)
nearest on dropdown WAs 8F3 CF6/EOBD
Ive contacted the developer and it will be resolved in the next update.
Has anyone got the same problem if so please advise the developer and the next update may be quicker. If it wasnt for this recent problem I would reccomend ALfaobd on Android for those having problems sorting out MES. (if not same ecu , also a demo version available)

I have both since Alfaobd on my phone and BT adaptor always in VAn. The Laptop with MES also has VCDS for VAG vehicles.

These things happen from time to time, and in my experience the AlfaOBD developer is very responsive. I doubt additional reports will hasten the fix, but I'm sure it will happen as promised ;-)
