Right, as some of you know I had put my iphone 3g on O2's premier insurance scheme and have since lost my iphone.

so I claimed and low and behold my replacement iphone 3g turns up(not with sim card, still awaiting it to turn up!), and then find out that whenever I phone someone up with it the phone starts a high pitch scream then says its lost signal.......in the centre of aberdeen.

So I then start looking through the settings and find the phones useage is at 10 days. Not so bad you're probably thinking until I then state that I've only had it for two days!!!!!

You've probably guessed by now but yeap......its a reconditioned phone!!??

Now bear in mind I pay a tenner a month for this insurance and over 24 month I would have paid £240, I paid £200 for a reconditioned iphone 3g for my mother on fleabay!:furious:

So I phone rippo.....I mean O2 insurance and complain to which I'm told its in the terms and conditions that they can send me a reconditioned phone, and theres nothing I can do about it.......but they are wrong, because once my phone is replaced again then I can cancel the insurance, and once the contract is finished then they can ram their shitty contract up their arse! I've been a loyal customer of O2 for 6+ years and they are not going to get another penny off me once my contract is through.:tongue3:

Got to admit, I'm paying a tenner or something a month plus a £25 fee each time I have to use the insurance facility...which so far is once (would be twice but for buying an old phone on here instead for the same price)

Thinking about vodafone next due to needing a phone signal in the sticks. O2 up here, just now at least, coverage is horrible!

Martyn! go with Tesco. Good Signal, often double or even tripple your'e credit, Clubcard Points, credit lasts quite a while.

I've not topped up since beggining of last month and it tells me I've still got over £20 left....... I told Vodafone wher to stick the contract I had after it finished, as they kept increasing the price of it.

Steve! Sorry to hear that.

From memory, my phone's covered under my contents insurance though that may well have conditions attached. I wouldn't pay extra for the insurance with a provider though. They always have hidden clauses and such that end up screwing you over as you've alluded to Steve.

Have to say as well, o2 suck in terms of customer service, but they're no worse than Orange were when I was with them 5 odd years ago. Apple though are brilliant in terms of service, so if anything goes wrong with the actual phone I'm relatively satisfied it'll be taken care of. Of course, I've had the phone for well over the allotted time for which it can be replaced due to normal manufacturing error but still, the staff are far more helpful than the o2 numpties. It's another reason why I'm still considering getting another iPhone...

im on tesco and put £10 abou 3 weeks ago. thing is though as its pay as you go you try not to use it due to running out of cred. so i text and phone half as much as i used to so it isnt that good of deal really.

i was on a 35 a month 02 contract which they quad charged a month for me. so they charged me 140 quid in one month and wont accept there mistake. so i refused to pay it to which they cut me off and keep threatening to take me to court. the annoying thing is i had 3 month left with them so onle 105 quid to pay not 140. so **** it if they take me court how can i loose???

i had a similar thing with orange quite a few years ago. never used them since either. found voda to be expensive for what it is but t-mobile to be a quite cheap and reliable option for me.

As I said Steve, I used to be on Vodafone Contract, fine at first I was earning plenty of money (roughly £800 per month), but due to having an unfortunate accident before I moved up here (long story.... don't ask), so I was on IB (Incapacity Benift), which was about £65 every 2 weeks, and no matter how many times I spoke to Vodafone customer services they wouldn't listen, and were charging my more and more. When my contract did end I kept asking them for a PAC (Port Autorisation Code) so I could transfer my number onto Tesco.
Nowdays Vodafone ring me and send me letters saying "as a previous customer with Vodafone, we would like to welcome you back to vodafone anytime you wish to rejoin vodafone!". Can't say I've had any problems with Tesco. Vodafone wouldn't even listen to me when I was getting deat threats via text from my last Girlfriend.

I think insuring your iPhone with O2 Insure Premier costs just £120 a year.
