oki since im new to the whole learing to drive and insurance wat do i have to declare to the insurance when modding my car
stuff iv done/hoping to do

window tints
new race style seats with harnesses
small tailgate
miby a small mods to the bonnet
upgraded brakes/disk (green pads)

I think if I recall rightly the official stance is "Anything that affects or moderates the performance of your car" so things like 6x9s in the parcel shelf dont have to be declared (unless you think the may get nicked or something and want to insure them obviously) but things like new alloys and so on do have to.

imo declare EVERYTHING thats not standard from the showroom!!

It's worth speaking to an advisor at the insurance company you're using about any modifications on your car, it costs one 'phone call.

As it happens, all of my 'tweaks' on the Stilo have been declared. The one that they queried, surprisingly, was the Stilo Abarth shadow chrome wheels I have fitted (an option on my car when new and one of my better ebay finds) - had to take photos - but didn't cause my premium to rise any. They pointed out that in the event of something happening those wheels are tricky to source new - which is fair comment.
