does anyone know how to stop companies from sendin emails even though i`ve told them i have unregistered, ie wippit.com and a few others, i losing patience with them now and when i try to reply to tell them to stop etc, it bounces back.

it isn`t spam thats being sent i`ve got that set up so no spam comes through.

i`ve gone as far as deleting my details from the websites and some how they still send me stuff via email.

short of changing my email i have no way of sortin this out, and i don`t want to consider changin my email somehow.

Deleting your details from a website won't remove you from a mailing list there should be a link on the email (if it's legit) that'll remove you from their database. The best way to avoid a load of junk is to limit what sites you register for and to use reputable ones also.

Clicking on anything on an unsolicited email (even if it offers to delete, unregister, unsubscribe you) is a fatal error many make.
All that does is confirm that your email address is live. You are asking for trouble if you do it.

thanks for the vote of confidence there sabre, (not meant to be nasty)

Emails.....

I'm afraid I agree with Mark, if you try to unregister with a dodgy emailer just once your email address seems to propagate across the net and you end up with millions more unsolicited emails.

I deal with it by using web based email addresses and changing every five years or so, or when the guff becomes unbearable. If you use Outlook you can download software for free such as Mailwasher to help deal with it.

However if you know the sender physically exists outside the net (i.e. you know where they are and their address) there is a better chance you can unregister with them safely. The fact you are returning communication to them proving that you are a bona fide address waiting to be spammed is always a risk though.

That's what I was getting at, just wasn't so clear. It's really all about common sense when dealing with this type of thing.

If you are using outlook you can set up rules to allow or deny addresses.

You can also stop whole domains so if you keep gettiing emails offering russian brides from addresses ending .RU you can block that entire domain and never get anything from Russia With Love again (boom boom)

My works email keeps being spammed so I set up a rule to move everything from addresses NOT in my contact list to a seperate folder. I can then take a quick lood in the folder
