Not impressed so far

I bought some Simoniz back to black spray which I've heard good reviews about so I went out then and spent a good 15mins coating it up and there has not been much of a change IMO

Am I doing something wrong?

No: compared to the Autoglym bumper and trim gel, it's pretty useless, I'm afraid (and I say that, having tried about every product on the market... -- including WD40...)! (n)

This is how good the Autoglym stuff is...! :D

I'm trying to get the bit of trim on my gp above the bonnet below the wind screen as it's very sun bleached it's worked a little bit but no where near how I want it I've let it soak in and I'm going to do some later on.

That stuff looks like it's works brilliantly mate. Is it a smooth finish? The bit I'm doing is like a matt roughly kinda finish :)

I've done the scuttle on my Punto, too: as it works on both smooth and rough surfaces (applied with either a roughish microfibre cloth or a sponge...). Gives everything a slightly reflective -- silky, not gloss -- finish.

Not the best photo, I'm afraid....

The autoglym is good but i can recommend autofinesse revive, its also very, very good. Ive got it on my scuttle panel on my grande punto and its lasting well.
I had problems with the autoglym running when it rained and havent experienced it with the autofinesse.

Haven't had rain problems; but you're the second person in a short time to mention the Auto Finesse stuff. Might give it a go, when the Autoglym finally runs out...! (y)

Can comment on the spray but I swear by the Simoniz B2B Gel. Works a treat on the classic pandas :)

No spray will work on that!
This is the sort of product you'll need:

Before and after using car plan bumper jel on my girlfriends mummy's soft top mini results are crazy from just one coat.

Were you being kind to your girlfriend's mum or using her car as a test mule? I've had good results with ACF50 on the indicators of a 1978 Honda motorbike which had faded practically white. It's good stuff but pricey, it was designed to protect aircraft from corrosion but has a multitude of uses!

By and large, trim gels only offer a greasy temporary coating when runs into paintwork leaving horrible smears - Chemical Guys and Valet Pro offer the best gels. Dodo Juice and Zaino both offer water based dressings which dry to hard coating and don't smear - they're also temporary.

Ultimately, you get what you pay for.

If you want a premanent trim coating - look at G Techique's website.

It was a bit of both if I'm honest and partly because it hurt my eyes to look at them they were so ooooo faded haha
