hi,1.9 stilo jtd..not been used for about 2weeks,tried to start it..no luck, bought a new battery cause old one was weak.no chance, turns over as normal but will not start, took off fuel pipe from filter that feeds pump, switched on ign, good flow of fuel, disconnected fuel pipe on pump, cranked it on starter,no fuel coming out ,someone said "crankshaft sensor"faulty.but would fuel not still come out of pump when cranked on starter?checked fuses, wiring etc,but they seem ok,is there a shut off solenoid in pump???...is there any hope at all??..

Well, I don't have the diesel power, but my crankshaft sensor got corroded and didn't send signals of a moving crank / flywheel. The plugs got all wet, so I guess it still pushes fuel out (98 octane in my case though). Just not a spark. Got the sensor cleaned and reinsetrted, and off it went.

this stilo again

hi,still no luck with this car,it will not start at all..02 jtd active..does anyone the voltage that is in the wires on the 2pin connector on top of the diesel pump?..i tested it with a voltmeter with ignition on ..about 1volt is going through it should it not be at least 12v?..as i stated before fuel coming out of filter & going into pump but nothing coming out of pump to go to injectors.is pump at fault or could it be this rpm crank sensor?...does this control the flow of fuel from the pump via the ecu???who knows? does anyone?

ump and inertia switch jtd.JPG
I'd take a look at the inertia switch I50- near the passenger's left foot usually in a rh drive car. It may just need resetting by pushing the top cap in

It'll stop earth to the pump N40

Pump should have 12v going in at pin 4 and the inertia switch gives it earth at pin 3

Pins 1 and 2 are the fuel level sensor

same old problem???

hi,got new high pressure pump for this stilo (1,9 jtd 02),..same problem..no fuel coming out of pump .i took off old pump spun it round on its sprocket.a jet of fuel came out of injector ,,same as the new one spun it round jet of fuel again. but when fitted to vehicle..nothing at all not even a drip..plenty fuel in tank, plenty fuel at filter, fuel is going in,but not coming out..this is driving me crazy..has the fuel filter housing got an addition boost in it maybe ???:bang:
