unless you have had blocked duckbills you are probably looking in the wrong place.

I would be looking at the pick up ring around the ignition barrel. Especially as its sometimes worked

Shame you haven't a spare key as this would eliminate one possible cause.

I haven't seen the pick up coil fail on a Panda. But it is fairly common on the Punto. No doubt they are the same.

I would flick the pick up coil out and get it closer to the transponder chip in the key. Then if it then starts drive it home. Once started the immobiliser will not kick in again until its switched off.

hi, been offered £150 for the panda. im thinking about it.
I with koalar in thinking it is a key / imobiliser problem.

Search on forum showed a few people had similar issues with the type of key you have.

Someone fixed their problem by getting an automotive locksmith to make and code a key key to the car.

The likes of timpsons may be able to check your keys immo transponder and if het a signal clone a key for you.

In mean time turn key till warning lights on dash and only try to start if immo light goes out.
If immo light doesn't go out , turn key back off , then back to dash lights on , repeat until immo light goes out.

If you can get it started don't turn it off till you get it home-if you want it home!

Make sure to only have the panda key near the ingnition when trying to start.

hi, just got back home from trying to get the panda to start.no joy after re-fitting the cleaned up ecu.as hoping that could of fixed it ( due to the green corrosion & damp) . ive tried ignition on & off lots of times, hoping the immobilizer light would stay off.:confused:now the obd port is not working again, getting link error on code reader. just wish i could bypass immobilizer.. 1 of the guys at work wanted the car, but he wont buy it unless its running. cheers, steve (y)
