Hi all, I;m normally to be found on the barchetta section but my wife's GP has really noisy suspension. feels ok on the road, just makes a clonking noise usually from right front, but sometimes from the back. Been worse in ice and snow. We did have rattly doors until I put tape on the catches. New cars eh?

Any ideas before I traipse to the dealers?

Anti-roll bar drop links 99%! Plenty on this Forum on it, had it myself.

i took my gp m-jet in yesterday fro same (maybe reason). i hada clonking off all 4 wheels. they took it in and told me the suspension mount and/or casing is wearing. (im sure he said they both were). and hed need to replace the all. he said it can be common on gps. luckily mines under warranty though, so not sure how much it will cost you if yours not under warranty.
hope this helps.

Hello,

Do you know if the front suspension has oil also inside?

I saw that on the left one there's some oil. Might need to be changed?

Thanks

from the sounds of what you say it could be a leaking shock absorber

jack the car up and safely support it then remove the wheel and lift up the rubber boot in the middle of the spring.. and see if its covered in oil under the cover....

If so its new strut time (i would replace them as a pair to keep the handling of the car safe....

If you plan on doing it yourself this guide explains most of the job

Thanks... I was just thinking... how can leak if they say that it's a gas shock absorber... I'll check later if there's oil under that cover

Hi Spiderboy
Please can you give an update on this once fixed - my 08 GP is doing the same (only in 15C+) on the front right hand side. The stealers 'diagnosed' it but when I took it to another garage for their opinion they disagreed with them - but couldn't find a cause! Getting annoying again now warmer weather is on the way....been for MOT and service at a 3rd garage today and they didn't spot anything...Thanks
