I have a 2006 model with a constant suspension clatter from front N/S. all suspension checked by garage and said safe and ok, but unable to locate where noise is. Have put caliper repair kits on both sides, but no result.

The clatter you describe indicates this is a loud noise and not a small problem, so the garage missed it. You'd have to take it in somewhere else. I could guess and say its the droplinks, or one of the springs has broke, but its hard to say with any accuracy.
