Hi all I have recently bought a 08 plate bravo 1.9 multijet sport 150 and every time I start the car on a morning the engine is really tappy until it reaches normal temperature, can anyone help out on what this could be as my brother in laws ( same car) doesn't do this. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah it's my first diesel so was just a bit worried will see how it goes cheers

Might be worth doing simple things like changing glow plugs, oils, filters (basically a service). Just ease of mind for you as you don't know what the situation of the current oils/filters are. In fact it's a good habit to have whenever you buy a new car. Also a good engine oil will always help with cold starts as cheap oils don't work well until warm

Good call, what is the best oil for these cars/engines? Thinking of doing gearbox oil too as it's the M32 box

Could be a worn injector. I have an Alfa 159 Jtdm and it's a bit noisy until it warms up. I put my fiatECUscan onto it and sure enough number 2 injectors fuel delivery is a bit suspect. Not saying that you have a worn injector but might be worth investigating, especially if there is a bit of a miss in the engine.

Cheers stephen79 will have a look at this, how much are new injectors, may as well do all 4 at same time, cars only done 66k too

As I said its only something that might be worth looking into but at that mileage I would be surprised its an injector bar the fuel your using is junk. My Jtdm has 240k kms on it and its only a slight misfire in it when cold. I think the injectors are an awful price. I saw some recons on ebay for 187 euro:eek:. Now that would make you think twice about buying 1 never mind 4! I know injectors for common rail are pricey.

I bloody hope it's not the fuel that's at fault I only feed it the best shell ultimate diesel whatever it's called haha I will try a bottle of injector cleaner and new filters (oil and fuel) other than that I love the car, managed to get a new clutch and dual mass flywheel fitted through the garage when I first bought it as I couldn't get it into reverse or first, just had all new disks and pads up front, thinking of getting a remap for "efficiency" ?? haha

except the 1.9 16V Diesel which has the 530/6 ( and the 1.9 8V Diesel with the 530/5 )

According to eLearn, only TJets have the M32

I'm fairly confident the 1.9 has the M32.

Especially when you consider the alfa 159, vauxhall Astra etc etc all use the same 1.9 diesel all hooked up to the M32.

I can't really see Fiat doing it any different..

Use a good engine flush, replace with Mobil 1. ESP oil, then put in WURTH CR fuel treatment,
But it sounds like top end is getting lazy due to oil getting dirty or wrong grade.
