Hey everyone, happy easter to you all

Has anyone else got the rattling/loose fitting noises over rough roads/bumps from the rear, sounds like its the parcel shelf, rear seats or even the doors. any cures? thanks

(ive checked my spare wheel area and everything is tight in there)

Hi bravo, Sounds like it could be your rear bumper i came across a thread sometime a few months ago with the same problem. the only cure to fix it if it is, is to place something between the bootlid and the rear bumper or take the complete bumper off and stuff a old rag in it to stop the vibration.

Im sure i've read a couple of examples on here where people have stuffed bubble wrap or rags in the bootlid, behind the plastic trim to stop this. I think it was for the Bravo.

Liam's quite correct - loosen the inner of the bootlid and stuff some bubble wrap in there. Don't remove it completely as its a 'mare to get it back on.

:) Glad to be of assistance!

I just get ignored when i make suggestions in the 500 section - it's obviously full of ignorant ex-Mini drivers ;)

i've got the same problem :S:S i also have noises coming from my roof dont know what to do.. it's so annoying

I don't have this problem at the moment, but the B1 had to have a modification done because of a rear seat rattle.

(Modification = a bit of tape round the rear seat catches!)

The way the rear parcel shelf fits looks a bit dodgy to me. A prime spot for a rattle if you ask me.

I've got a creak coming from the front windscreen/dash/instrument cluster assembly, it's bugging the hell out of me but I can't locate the exact source.

I also had a whining coming from the passenger seat area, my mechanic took it out for a test drive and said the best cure to stop the whining would be to remove my wife from the passenger seat, it worked a treat!

The old ones are the best ones... or that's at least what I tell my 18yr old girlfriend... *boom tish*

I've got a creek from the windscreen/dash, but only in certain weather conditions. Most annoying noise is the 'tsssss' from the brake cylinder on the other side of the car... Might attack it with some sound eating insulation.

Thanks for all the posts guys and girls.

I will try the bootlid method and let you guys know.

Also ive noticed when i slam my drivers door shut the back door looks like its loose and it moves about... im wondering whether this is adding to the rattles over bumps.

Thanks Again

check the roof

Just remembered a rattle I had behind the dash in the Regatta.
I had the dash out, drove round for a couple of hours trying to find exactly where it was coming from.

Eventually I found it. It was my shades on the sun visor, rattling on the roof lining!!!

I had the same problem when I owned my fiat bravo it ended up being my boot lock put some duck tape on the hinge to make the contact with the lock a little thicker I might be wrong with yours but solved my problem. Just wear and tear but it is what the garage done with mine

For the front again I had same problem noise coming from the front window ended up being a problem with the rubber around the window if my memory serves me right they replaced it and also said my aerial needed tightened up.

Oh yes the lovely sounds that the car produces, I have something making me crazy on the right side of the dash and I took out the blue and me as I thought it was that...but it is not, than there is the passenger seat, there was something in the boot (but I sound proofed it yesterday) and right above me on the roof...I am going to dismantle the whole car and put sound insulation over anything I can stick it on, looking in dynamat or silent coat..does someone know any cheaper alternatives?
