General Noise on full lock

Hi all, new here. Picked up a 2017 500L trekking over the weekend for wifes first car. Noticed a grinding/rubbing noise from drivers front wheel when on full lock clockwise. Garage says its rubbing on the arm but no obvious mechanical issue to suggest why. Did notice however, the steering wheel turns roughly 1/8th of a turn more clockwise than it does anticlockwise(assuming its this last extra bit is causing the rubbing on the arm). Has anyone had any similar issues, and hopefully a solution. Wheels i believe are factory and on 225/45/17 tyre. Any help/advice much appreciated.

Assuming no damage to suspension etc.
I don't know about your tyre size but re the steering lock , is it possible someone has adjusted the tracking/wheel alignment on one side only, I have heard of tyre "specialists" doing this trick. Basically when doing wheel alignment it should only have the same amount adjusted on one side as the other.
If so lock the wheel right around one way, clean the track rod end and measure the number of threads showing and then do the same the other side to compare, it can then be corrected by winding on one side and off the other exactly the same number of turns to match. You may find the steering wheel needs correcting then depending on whether some else has already done that.
I would say take great care when doing this , you don't want to find the track rod end is only hanging on one thread!!!
