Hi all, I'm trying to help a friend with a car he bought. We are not getting voltage to injector 4, we checked resistance and continuity and wire is fine. Any ideas please?
And... that is a bit weird what you say, not getting voltage to injector no. 4. Because all injectors share supply.
They have the +12 V line alway on and ground which is controlled by ECU and always turn on and cut off so each injector injects fuel just on best moment.
And ground signal switches so fast that multimeter can't catch it with engine running. A control lamp can and that will flicker.
So... what is happening exactly there. What do you mean no voltage on injector 4? How is that?

Hi Mike, thanks for the contact. The car is running really rough, so I unplugged each sparkplug wire and no change, I then unpluggged each injector wires and noticed no change when unplugging number 4. I checked with a multimeter and number 4 would get 0 on one wire and .2ish on the other while 1 2 and 3 would get 11 on one wire (the orange) and a low reading on the others. I checked continuity and resistance on all wires and they are okay. I did findd damage to the throttle body harness, could have been shorting as some wires were peeled and flattened, so I replaced the damaged section and checked again. Car still running rough, injector 4 still not firing but now voltage on the wires went to 6.
