Technical No first or second after clutch change

I just finished swapping the clutch on my 2012 fiat 500 pop. When removing the transmission i made the mistake of removing the arm instead of the shifter linkage I got that put back on and moving how it's supposed to. But it won't go in to first or second gear. The shifter moves into the slots and feels like it's in first but when I start to move it's below 1000 rpm and if I shift to second the rpm's drop further. If I shift to 3rd from second the rpm's go up again as if I downshifted instead of upshifting I'm just trying to figure out how to adjust it to make first engage. Any help is appreciated! Tia!

Are you saying you have no drive in any gear?
Does the gear lever go into all the gears with engine off?
Does it grate when trying to select a gear?
If you have normal drive in all gears including reverse except 1 and 2?
If so can you get those gears if you lift the reverse gate control on the gear lever? If so there is a slight neutral gate adjustment below the gear lever.
