hi sorry
its 1999 year and a ulysse EL petrol 2.0L
thank you

this is fuel getting in, when i take the pugs out and check there is no spark from the plug,i will have a look for that relay , due you think it might be playing up because of the flood water,do you know the number for it?

i also hear the engine managment click somtimes when the ignition is off

thats it, i somtimes hear that click twice when the bonnet is up,and no ignition, it olso click a few seconds after i try to start it

Sounds like the same pronlem I have, I think the relay is the smaller black unit near the ecu with a red holding clip, mine clicked eratically when the car started dying and the engine light came on at same time. Now mine is really dead with STOP flashing on the dash. If you get yours working let me know how. I havent had any replies to my many posts on here. 2.0S v reg.

i know the clip you mean, mine only clicks twice which it always has, but now it clicks twice on its own,the engine light is off,all other electrics are fine ,i am really stumped,we have had fllods here so hoping its water intake and can solve fast but knowing my luck it wont

Just looked at other posts and nobody seams to have an answer for this on petrol models, my engine did have water on it after bad rain and some water by the ecu, have you tried turning the ignition on and waiting to see if the engine light comes on? mine used to come on after a 1 minute wait then the car would start, but this only worked one day the day after it didn't even do that. Luckily I have another car but my mrs and the 3 kids miss the fiat. Any ideas either way and will post.

How likely is it that this could be faulty? I cant run diagnostic test as there is connection failure .The unit was warm last time it run. One mechanic has said 6th pin on ecu relay? Lost me as the 6th pin on this relay is a blank (I think)13 wires and 14 pins.

wiring diagrams for these are useless,i'd go straight to coil for correct supplies then work my way back.

That double relay is £24,worth trying scrapyard though. Its similar to the early punto(mk1) double relay but check pin configuration first as some models are different.

I went down the breakers and got 2 relays, they was off a punto but same pin configuration and same switching lay out, the was a different number tho,
unfortunatly nothing is better, there is still no spark and there is no smell of petrol, as the relay supplys power to coil and fuel pump.

Any Ideas?? :bang:

One mechanic has had a go at my ulysse, thought it might of been the crank sensor so replaced, no good, checked for pulses on injectors and thats ok so it looks like the double relay is okay, awaiting an update. I will keep you posted if he gets it going, and hopefully you'll do the same.

The relay i got from the punto had exacly the same wiring diagram on the top.but still might be it thou, i am getting a diegnostic done on it tomorrow and maybe get the crank senor change also,my guy said the the crank senor is also running the fuel pump and the coil.
Hope this works
i will let you know flyingmythos

What do you think T14068??

My garage has decided to send the the ecu off to be tested as a new replacment will be costly, there is a possibility that water has got inside and shorted something. Will keep you informed.
