I am going to change the car stereo soon and i have read that you have to disconnet the battery before doing so.

I do not have the master red key so if the battery is disconneted then the blue keys may not start the car again.

What do i do about not having the red key, i have read that it costs £500 for a new one, is this true?

it it even necessary to disconnet the battery.

Thanks

You do not need the red key for restarting after you disconnect the battery.

The red key is only really needed for programming a new blue key from the immobiliser.
