Hi guys and Gals,

I have a problem that I'm hoping you can help me with, I have a Bravo 08 plate Tjet and I have no audio output. Speaker tests are negative and the blue&me woman is not working. However the radio display says VOICE when she is supposed to be talking.

I have tried updating Blue&Me but to no avail.

Any ideas.

Thanks

JOhn

That has not worked, I tried disconnecting the battery and re connecting my phone, firmware update and still no noise.

Silly question, but have you pulled the unit out to check the cables at the back? Plus do any of the other features; radio and CD work? Is this solely related to the Blue&Me?

If you have checked the cables and it's all connected then that's fine. If CD is working and Radio is working then that only leaves a few things.

1) Your update may not have worked, check to see if you can downgrade back to factory setup. If you can and it still doesn't work then it could be a internal problem with the Blue&Me process.

2) Your device; if it happens with other phones then it's not a external issue.

3) Dry Welds; this is related to the welds on components that have dried out or burnt out due to the welds being of poor quality or not installed correctly. It happens on all electrical devices which can result in overheating chips and loss of signals to different parts of the device. You have to pull the unit out and look inside it, which would be your last resort as you may want an electrician to test the signals. If this is a success then it is all software related, which could been fixed with a new install or downgrade

4) Last hope, get a new unit (expensive) or used one

Good luck :)

sounds like a good excuse to get a full new sound system to me :slayer:

I'm going to pull the unit out when the keys arrive. Can I disconnected the blue&me part. I have a sneaky feeling that it's muted from a phone all and doesn't realise that the phones disconnected.

All bluetooth issues are internal and the only thing you can disconnect is the USB AUX connection. Best to take the unit out fully, disconnecting form the main battery. The Pause button would also cause it to Mute, as it does when playing CDs. Like I said, it may be your device settings, check all the bluetooth settings related to handsfree or audio etc.

Good luck

I should have mentioned that there is no sound from any function radio, cd, mp3, phone. Nada nothing

Then it may have loose connections behind, this can happen if the previous owner had their own installed and then swapped it back in correctly.

The speakers may also share the same issue, if they swapped them back.

Now it doesn't seem to be a bluetooth issue, just need to check connections or replace the unit. There are scrapped ones available if you want the same look, or you can got for a different style. Double Din stereo units are available, or get a single din facial adaptor and use a normal stereo Like This One

I have just spoken to the stealers today and they have told me the price to repair my gear problem (the gears feels your pushing them through treacle) also the radio issue (powers on but no sound output, if I disconnect the radio and plug the power source back in the speakers crackle) is.........£1400

I have owned the car since July 2012 and it had done 6k miles when I both it and it has just done today including taking it into the garage 16k.

The warranty I bought (£1k) does not cover these faults or the previous engine coolant leaks.

I have spoken to citizens advice and also trading standards, I have sent a double letter to the garage (chaplehouse) and also the finance company (Santander). I have given them 7 days to reply.

I will let you know how I get on, but I am disgusted at the life of the radio. The gears thing apparently is water ingress.

Not a happy bravo owner.

That quote is disgusting, you're better off replacing the lot and paying a desperate mechanic to fit it all (New Gearbox only, you can do the stereo)

I requested my warrenty to be refunded due to the trash talk inside the documents that pretty much refuse to do anything unless it's a internal issue that can not be accessed through normal use and is exactly as it was installed when manufactured.............WTF!

Pretty much a waste of time. I hope when you purchased the car you put a minimun of £200 on a cedit card, this would protect you against all this hassel.

Since the stereo is an 'attachment' to the vehical it may not be covered. As the main purpose of a car is to move from one idle place to another by means of an engine, your car is considered fit for purpose. This issue would only be removed if, let's say, the steering wheel was missing or wouldn't move the wheels in any direction.

Since your car can not move without a gearbox, you have more of a claim on that.
