Good luck. I am stragngely drawn to these things too. My parents had one in the 80's and went all over europ in it. I used to mock them mercilessly but can see exactly the appeal. Theirs was always breaking down! Nearly all of the breakdowns were overheating and coolant loss so do make sure you give the underfloor pipes particular attention when you get that far.

Wow, good luck with it, I have the pandora camper version, have had miles of smiles with mine but be prepared for long term renovation. Mechanical parts seem readily available as they are often shared with other fiat models but body panels seem to be harder to get hold of. I look forward to watching your progress!

Have been out in mine between Christmas and New Year here in Australia. All the overheating issues are due to poor set ups ..... mine runs happily as FIAT intended on 40 degree C days up the highway.
