Punto (Mk1) newbie with wiper problem

Hi all, very new to this and just signed up
Not sure if I am posting this in the correct area
I have a 97 punto and when I use the windscreen washer the wipers dont automatically work...
Is this correct or should they work? (They will work when I turn them on)

can't really remember..,

some older FIAT's are NOT linked like that,
maybe ask in the Punto 1 section,

my GT does auto wipe, can't remember if my old P60 did (was a '98), was too long ago..

My does not work, although I changed the washer pump first thing when I got the car as it was not working. I only got the front to work. I turn the wipers on an then activate the washer. So in short most likely the washer needs to be activated manually.

Rear washer has a one way valve which is located next to the washer bottle behind the inner passenger front wheel arch they mess up preventing it from working take it out and connect a joiner to pipes and it will work them

Yes this is normal. I have a Mk1 75SX and using the windscreen washer does not automatically give a wash-wipe; you have to activate the wipers the wipers manually

Sounds right.

When I was a young man, folk used to have to tell when it got dark, when it was raining, when to change gear and how hard to press on the brake pedal.

Life was so hard..................... etc.

and no, my GT has no auto-wipe either.
