Hi all
My name is Adam and i've just bought a yellow 1997 cinq sporting for 250 quid.
Its got grey seicento abarth seats aswell as the 14" abarth alloys. its done 85000 miles and its a nice little runaround.
I am a classic mini person and am currently restoring my mini so needed a runabout car. my brother was selling this so i bought it.
In the past 6 months its had the head skimmed and new head gasket aswell as a new timing belt.
I have just a couple of issues with it at the minute and was hoping i could get some input on them.
1. the engine is idling at 1500rpm which i know is high, i think its meant to be around 900rmp. i think this is probably just a vacuum leak and i need to find it and fix it, but could it be anything else?
2. the oil warning light comes on when i go around corners and sometimes even on the straights, but only for a few seconds. there is plenty of oil in the engine (slightly over max) so is this likely to be a faulty sender or even a dying oil pump?
3. the steering is very twitchy and heavy. i had this on my mini once and it turned out that the wheels needed to be tracked and the camber re-set. is this likley or is it just how these cars are?
4. is this how the front wipers should look?
many thanks
adam
