newbie needs help!

hi, my name is richard i have just brought a 1.6sx bravo, and thought i would join the club!
anyway my alternater is making a wirling noise. i think it make be the bearing as if i spray wd40 on it, it stops for a while then returns??


anyone had this before? what shall i do!!?!?!?!

Since you have just bought the car,go for a new alt. Costly but basic!

And don't ever spray WD40 near that end of the engine.

wasnt me

i must admit it wasnt me who sprayed it, it was the fiat mechanic. im thinking i might just take it off and grease the bearing up and see if that works. any other ideas?? i did hear that this was a common fault.
