500 Newbie - First and possibly last visit?

Am sure if the OP comes back all will be forgotten pretty soon...would be a shame if they didn't as there is plenty of useful stuff to be found on here.

Especially as both the original (quite reasonable) question & the answer I posted earlier (sorry it took 3 days but I do have a life outside of this forum) might help both the OP and other folks as well.

no that's not right, you can politely explain to them but no need to have a go and make them feel less welcome. they are attempting their own repair they will learn from that and be able to pass info on to others.

Absolutely brilliant! I have managed to get the answers I needed. I have also read all the comments posted on this thread (had a chuckle) and suppose I was a little impatient expecting a response earlier than 3 days - but look now how many people have responded - would this have happened if I hadn't posted this thread? - probably not. Anyway you all seem like a pretty normal bunch of people - maybe not too technical though - hope that doesn't offend anyone!

Why do you think we're here? most of us need help This is more like a self help group, some have more knowledge than others (I'm still on the novice table ) but they will help if they can. The collective knowledge is probably greater than the dealer networks so most questions can/will be answered but the speed can be more 386 rather than i7.

Many are quite technical, but the problem is that when you ask a very specific question like that, not everyone has a service manual to hand.


I can tell you the specs of all the standard wheel options for the 500 and widths, profiles, speed and load ratings for the 500.


There's a wealth of knowledge on here, you just asked something which no one knows off hand and which no one had asked before.
