Hi I'm a newbie! I've never had a Fiat before, but have just put a down payment on a Panda. Am collecting it on Tuesday!

I'm looking forward to collecting my Panda. However, I was disappointed to see the rear seat doesn't have head restraints. I like to clip my dog into the head restraints as she ties herself up in knots if clipped into the seat belt fixing. I understand it may be possible to change the seat for one out of a Fiat 500 or maybe a higher spec Panda but all those I've seen on Ebay state they won't fit my car. It's a 2017 my16. I'd be really grateful for any advice. Many thanks in advance ☺️ 🙏 ps. I'm sorry if I've posted this on the wrong part of the forum, I'm not very good at IT !

I know it's possible on the older 169 Panda

But you need to make sure you get the extra bracket that supports the split folding seats in the middle.

This thread suggests it should be the same on the 2012+ Panda:

You need to source a seat back for the Easy or lounge versions these have the head restaints but check they come with the restraints as breakers never seem to sell two parts together at one price. There are usually some on Ebay via a breakers. We have a restaint from a chain store with a swivel in its length or possibly 2 swivel. Can you buy another restrain and sew in an additional swivel link. Barney seems to manage, so check yours and look at the restraint first as it would be a cheaper solution.

Good luck with your new Panda. (y)My daughter had a 2012 1.2 Easy up until this month. That did have the rear headrests so her dog was fine. In the 6 years that she owned it it was ultra reliable. I have it at home now and will fettle it before selling it, though I wouldn't mind keeping it as I am very impressed with it. She now has a 500X and loves that. My local independent garage are real FIAT and Italian motoring enthusiasts. (Braishfield Garage Romsey)
