Hello we have just bought our first multipla, seems very good. Lots of room for our kids. Only problem is all the various warning lights pinging up. We have a humidity in fuel light and a engine control fault. The car is a 2002 jtd, I have owned a few puntos and alfas so am used to the italian car, but the missus is not and lets just say she is not impressed. Before I take the car to a dealer and get my credit card fried, is this something to worry about? Can a local garage reboot it or something? I have had a look through the forums and am glad it is not smoking or limping or collapsing. Why do they need so many sensors? Really like the car, very swift and comfy. Any words of advice greatly appreciated thanks.

errm if you keep getting lights flshing up then try getting your battery tested, a low battery will cause these intermittent faults
, also if you can get the car scanned then post the codes that will be great

I agree with checking the battery is fully charged.
I almost didn't buy out multipla as it had a couple of errors (abs & ebd
) which showed whilst looking at it.
When we tried to start it, we found the battery was almost flat (the dealer had been leaving the boot open, and had forgotten to disconnect the interior lights).
One boost charge later, not only did it start fine, but the errors also disappeared and still have not reappeared.

have you had the fuel filter changed for the humidity in fuel lamp staying on?
might find the wiring in the sensor in the bottom of the filter is knackered too.
if its just the humidity in diesel filter message coming up when you first start the car then i wouldnt worry too much about it, think it happens if you crank the key too quickly, eg straight from off to crank rather than off, ignition on, wait for lights to settle, crank.
however if the light is staying on i would change the filter and sensor, depending on what the e/management codes come up with. the last thing you want is water going through your high pressure pump and injectors.
as far as your question about sensors, theyre actually quite low-tech. share alot of parts with bravo/brava/marea platform. reason they have so many sensors is to get you that 40MPG around town from a 6 seater minibus!
my missus didnt like multis much, until she could get our 3 kids, next doors' 2, 2 dogs, a picnic, 3 bikes and a weekly shop in it! now she wont have anything else........
