500 (USA) New greetings and trunk issues

Hello I'm new to the forum world and to fiats. Prior to this little car that can, I would've said I'm a Volvo driver. I owned 5 wagons /240 series, and #6 was a '95 850. I rode that one hard most days and harder still on others.
Anyway, long and short of it, I'm now in a fiat convertible, and it challenges me daily.
But why I'm here at the moment, I can't access trunk unless I crawl in thru back seat and use the inside latch release. Frustrating to say the least. Now, my pop up wind diverter? at top of windshield, both sides came unseated. This in turn messes with top closing completely. Ok. Lets start there.

I guess you don't fill your 500 with as much gas..??,

Have a look in the UK 500 section = FAQ's at top of 500 page,

also say HI, in the US 500 section,
as your car will be most welcome there..!!, :hug:

I had this same problem with my 2012 USA 500c shortly after I purchased it.


To fix the problem you need to press the button to close the top and hold it down after the top is completely closed. You will here a clicking sound for a few seconds. After the clicking stops you top and trunk will work properly.
