Sorry to hear about your strut brace mate I personally would go for an uprated one and I know they are not cheap.

In terms of black wibg mirrow surrounds mate a nice gloss black would look really nice against the red of your GP

Right, strut brace is bent and is rattling against exhaust. Anyone how much it would be to have it replaced? Also, should I go for an uprated one or just replace it? Thanks !

6 bolts / nuts diy it, new ones are on shop 4 parts might as well do drop links at the same time as well it would be silly not too (2 more nuts or will it bend back?

I assume you mean anti roll bar?

Or you added a brace?

Its the bar that goes across the bottom, from one side of the car to to the other. Straight under the exhaust mate. Is that the strut brace?

Right, strut braces go under the bonnet, attached to the strut turrets.
Anti roll bars are under the car and attached by 5 or 6 bolts with bushes.

I think the part that youre on about is the subframe brace, goes under the exhaust and is the flimsiest piece of metal (especially for a brace) and its notorious for rattling against the exhaust. Its held in with 2 bolts.
You can upgrade to the Forge ones if you want, apparently they are very good! But thats if you have a spare £52. If not, just bend the original back!

Ahh that flimsy bit of tin.....didn't know early gp's had one my 06 active didn't . Un Bolt it beat it straight with a hammer and bolt it back on

Its suppose to stop the suspension geometry changing under hard cornering but fiats stock brace just twists under pressure lol!

Depends what you hit it on nothing is going to withstand the kinetic impact of one tonne if car hitting something solid. Look at front impact beams when someone hits a pillar in a car park

Firstly, plasitidipped the bottom of my bumper and got my pressed plates on:



Personally, I think plasitidip is **** for this sort of stuff. Especially if like us you try and mask - the tape removes the paint when its time to remove.

I'm thinking about getting it permanent with a bumper respray - thoughts?

Think the plastidip looks really good! If you like it then get it done properly!
Depends on how the springs are coated and how old they are! Might be a case of getting them sand blasted then powder coated!

Ah okay! Just thought they looked a bit weak tbh! I thought rust would weaken them.
