Hey folks,

First off wanna say thanks to everyone who has submitted threads on their cars which over the past few weeks has sealed my decision on my first car being a Grande Punto. I've enjoyed looking at the MM thread and looking just how nice you can get these cars. Some of the effort you guys go to is quite inspiring (and mental).

Today I put my deposit down on my '06 Grande Punto which is a 1.4 active sport. I was on a tight budget, it's my first car, I'm getting rinsed for the insurance (who doesn't?!) and I pick it up next week. However, I'm hoping some of the experts here could clear up a question I have...

The engine bay looks....weird. Theres a large gap on the left side and I can see what looks like a bracket/brace for something that should be there, or was there. Any body have any ideas?

Apart from this the car is quite tidy. There's the usual surface marks on the car for this age which the garage said they will clear up but in my opinion for someone on my budget (£3k) I can't grumble. Inside the car is immaculate! It drove well round stoke today and I'm looking forward to picking it up. I might start a thread, I don't have too many plans for the car. I think the main thing is it needs to be dropped, the gap between the wheel arch is crazy.

Thanks guys

Alex

Looks like an aftermarket bracket for something ie alarm or some sort of device my 1.4 is similar and doesn't have that bracket pretty sure it's been added so nothing to be concerned about
