Hi everyone,
So basically, I have a 53 plate Fiat Punto Active Sport 1.2 16v.
It all started when I tried an induction kit on it, it was fine for the journey to try it out, then I parked back on the drive and left it for the night.
The next morning, the car was totally different (not saying that the induction kit had any part in this, it just might do though!)
The car was misfiring and the power was gone, it was completely flat, foot to the floor in second gear felt like forever! The car sounded like it was growling (like the induction kit was still on when I had put the original air filter back on). Next thing, the engine management light came on, it was over a week til pay day so I tried struggling on, then about 2 days later it became undrivable, the misfire was ridiculous I couldn't even risk roundabouts! And there was a popping/banging noise (presumably excess petrol) coming from the exhaust.
Diagnostics said pre cat lambda, and also what was called a 'phase sensor', when payday came, I replaced the lambda sensor, no difference at all, so next I replaced the plugs and wires, and the misfire went! But still no power, so I went to get the engine management light turned off, and still no power and it came back on, so back on the diagnostic machine and it said (from memory) U1702, U1602 and P0340 fault codes. Next thing I did was replace the Cam Shaft sensor, still no difference, I have checked the timing belt, thats fine, and unplugged the MAP sensor, and it got worse so that is working fine, (went back to how it was when i plugged it back in).
Right so now I'm stumped
Any ideas???
