hi there guys,

ive got some new cams coming in the post for my t jet . i was thinking about getting them fitted by a garage that just about does everything etc .

but apparently the cams need a special key to undo them and put the new ones in . is this true?????(n)

also if they were to attempt to get them out with a key could they FCUK my valves up ????

i need answers ??:bang:

doubt they would muck the valves up, as they are not physically connected to the camshaft.

Maybe they are on about a Cam locking kit for timing reasons. Sorry not much help, maybe ring a stealers parts department and ask for advice?

ok mate cheers for that

You will definately need the crankshaft locking tool as well as camshaft timing tool. Not the easiest DIY job.Well, you will need these tools and some experience.. ;)

TBH I'd want it done by someone with experience on Fiat's 16v FIRE engine, it's not like a 'normal' head where the shafts are held down by 8-10 caps, and care needs to be taken with the gear tensioning system that links the two cams.

spoke to fiat, they wont fit them as they said to me they wouldnt want to be involved with any external parts (modifications) as it will avoid the warranty straight away ,

so where should i get these cams fitted ,, a specialist or try and attempt my self ?
