Need help please

Hi there, my mk2 punto 1.2 16v has now broken down yet again, it is misfiring on 2 cylinders, it is not the coil pack as just been changed aswell as the ht leads and spark plugs... got it diagnosed and found that everything was pointing to the ecu... bought a brand new ecu, plug and play one... but still no joy it is still misfiring, it is getting a compression test on thursday... can the head gasket cause the engine to misfire on 2 cylinders? if not what else can it be? as this car is really getting on my nerves now as this has now been broken down more times than i have had it running! all help would be greatly appreciated... thankyou

Don't quote me on this but I think the 1.2 16V also has an ignition module that drives the coil packs. Igniton module is driven by the ECU.

If I'm wrong hopefully soembody else will step in with correct information.
