Dear forum

I am in the process of replacing the clutch, have original set OE 71752235 for a Fiat Panda 1.2 8V, 5 speed manual. Year 2008.

The new clutch and pressure plate are identical to the old ones however the release bearing has a different design (please have a look at the pictures).

The old bearing has to grooves/recesses that fit into corresponding recesses on the release fork. The new bearing does not have these.

The new bearing fits as it should with no play, but when fitted it protrudes approximately 1-2 mm further down the input shaft compared to the old one.

Does it matter? I guess (or rather hope) that it doesnt matter and the clucth travel will have to be adjusted anyways.

What do you guys think?

Ok thank you very much for the reply. I wont worry anymore. Going to reassemble everything today.

I guess your fork also had corresponding wear marks did you replace it? Mine has and I also have a spare. However the spare came without the tiny circlip. I am afraid to damage the circlip so might leave the old fork be.

Sorry didn't see your reply

Manual gearbox, it's not too critical

And don't replace the release arm, just check they aren't bent, even quite worn they work just fine

Dualogic, I haven't changed a clutch in one of these, but would change any worn parts
