hi this is dina from india
i have got fiat uno 1.0fire petrol and i have fiat petra alloys 14' . want them to fit on my fiat uno .. dont no what tire size should i go for
mechanic is goa say if u go for 14' wheel will touch gearbox casing is is true? cos ihve seen many fiat uno with 14'
pls suggest me the correct size for fiat uno on 14'

Those look like Vauxhall/Opel/GM alloys to me, are they the right stud pattern, centre bore & offset?

The Uno will be 4x98mm (measured diagonally between the bolt centres), GM will be 4x100mm.

I have 5 1/2 x 14" Alfa Romeo alloys on mine, offset is 39mm, You could go about 5mm more safely to give you more room on the inner edge.

I have 185/60x14 tyres on the rear, which did rub (the inner wing) during hard cornering until I fitted new uprated shock absorbers.

On the front I have 175/65x14 as the 185/60`s did rub the inner wings on full lock. 165/65 or 70 x 14 will probably be better (& easier to find) in your part of the world.

No this r not vaxul or opel these alloys r oreginal fiat . Ty wer available on fiat petra indian model in 14' alloys . Got tem from friend. U say 165/65or7pr14 will be best for fully stock suspension. As my mechanic told me tbat the wheel will touch gearbox casing wen turning

Unless those wheels have an unusual offset I dont think they would. As I said, when I used 185/60x14`s they rubbed the inner wings on full lock (behind the wheel, not the gearbox). I`m sure 3-5mm spacers would have solved the problem, as there were no clearance issues on the outside (there was plenty of room between the tyre & outer arch).

What is the offset of those wheels? (the ET. number, which should be stamped next to the wheel size on the wheel somewhere).

You could always try some old ones on, then slowly drive over some deep dips / valleys on full lock to see if they rub?
 
Ok, then you may have clearance problems on the inside edge, if you really want to use those wheels you will have to get spacers between 5 & 8mm to push them out a bit.

Ideally you need a wheel with an ET between 35 & 38 on the Uno, which will allow a tyre between 175 & 185 width.

So for my My ET 44 i need to go for 165 max without putting spacers . Witth spacers i cn go for 175 or 185 . Suppose if i go for 175 or 185 without spacers it will gv problem na

Its possible even 165`s will rub with that offset. You really need to try one on the car to make sure. I`m not sure why you havent tried that yet anyway?

Even if they do fit, you are effectively narrowing the track of the car with ET44, which isnt ideal.
