500X My venezia blue cross plus

Introduction

Hello.
A lot of you may know me from the punto mk1 section as my main focus is my exploit yellow punto 75 elx, however I am now the proud owner of a 2016 Venezia blue 500x 1.6 multijet cross plus.

I'm no stranger to the 500x as I'm the fiat/ abarth specialist at my local fiat dealer and was at the international launch of the 500x in Turin a couple of years ago.

Plans for the car, well today I had it professionally detailed, I've put my private plate on and removed the plastic plate plinths p that I can put the shorter plates on it, and also have ordered some 35mm lowering springs for it, so interested to see how it'll look with them on it.
Also, I may buy a set of mopar fiat mudflaps for the us version but I'm undecided on them as of yet.
I have also freshened up the calipers with silver paint and cleaned and sealed the inside of the alloys, as well as a set of genuine 500x mats

Some pics of the mk1, my dads 500L and my 500x....
Working in a fiat garage is handy, if anyone has any questions give me a shout and I'll do my best to find the answer
Hi just started reading this thread and wondered if you've come across the climate control numbers fading e.g. Only part of the temp number lights up .

Do you have a link to the DRL bulbs (or similar)? I've long been wanting to replace my yellow ones with some that match the headlights but seen a lot made of what's legal etc etc so didn't want to pick up the wrong ones.

Mine's a City Lounge, but assume it takes the same bulbs as the Cross...?!

I believe I'm right in saying there are currently NO legal external LED bulbs for the 500X except possibly the number plate bulbs. There are plenty of quality bulbs about if you wish to take the risk though.

A chap who works for the dealer where I got my car said he bought some "Xenon effect" DRL bulbs for his 500X from a company called M-Tech, but again I wouldn't know if these are legal or which ones specifically would be the right ones.

Ordered black Alfa centre caps, as the cheap fit ones I have on are peeling already and I can’t find Fiat ones that fit properly either so they should be here Tuesday.

Also picked up a pink 500 for my wee girl which is cool as- confirms a normal 500 goes in the back of a 500x.

She will love it because she’s always wanting to go out in daddy’s fiat 500 or his yellow punto car- she’s 2 and brainwashed already

My led running lights blew a couple of micro led’s which was bringing up error messages on the dash, so swapped them for 6000k led cree bulbs with a 5 year warranty. Much happier with these as they are the same crisp white colour as the xenons and no error messages.
Also found a set of led number plate lights from Italian ebay that are error free.

Ah mate they look spot on. We have just brought a yellow 4x4 2l diesel and would like to replace the driving lights/drl’s because they are cr4p. Could you send us the link or spec of these you have please

Simon, I believe you work at a dealership? Perhaps you could clear up a grey area by having a word with your MoT tester. As far as I know, there aren't any retrofit l.e.d. lamps that are road legal. Does the MoT test look at this aspect - several forum contributors have commented that their l.e.d. equipped cars have passed without comment.
The new test which will be carried out from May 20th specifically covers retro-fitted HID headlamps. Owners who have fitted those will be required to remove them and re-fit halogen units.

So....

An update- the car needed new front tyres after 17,000 miles so bought a set of bridgestones.
I also decided to bling up my brakes behind the Alfa wheels with ebc discs and new mopar pads.

As the discs were black coated, I took the car for a wee drive to get all the black **** off them.

I did however find out that for some reason, Fiat have factory fitted 2.0 4x4 multijet 305mm discs and calipers to my 1.6 multijet.
I originally ordered the discs for a 1.6 but when they arrived the fronts were far too small.
When I went into work I looked on eper and right enough my car is listed with 305mm discs but every other 500, we have at work have the smaller 281mm discs.
Luckily the seller changed them no problem and I technically have a free big brake upgrade.

Plasti dipped my boot handle, rear lights and front grille to match the alloys.

Opinions?

I’m not sure?

Looks ok, I would have left the lights though, the boot handle kind of blends in with the rear bumper, nice one on the discs by the way, have you noticed many cars come in with crappy surfaces on the rear discs, almost kind of scored, mine don't look great after only 15000 miles, the fronts look a nice silver color,

Mine had an intermittent fade on one of the dials. Replaced under warranty. Unfortunately the plastics on the new one are starting to bubble up. Awaiting another new one on warranty.
