Stilo My Stilo :)

Sounds like you're wearing a 'Cheshire Cat' smile...

The autochanger question is pretty simple - there is only one direct fit changer for the factory head unit. It's a FIAT specific version of the Blaupunkt IDC-A09 which has a list price of around £250 which is fairly steep for a 5-disc changer.

As for the code card, I bought mine from a FIAT dealer and never got one - there are a few threads in the depths of the Stilo section regarding this and it would seem that the code cards were held back at the request of the insurers. You can get hold of the code card from any dealer although they will probably want a copy of the V5 ( I know mine did) and they may charge for the privilege (cost me £7.50)

Stu,

You sneaked this one on us!

I was on holiday last week so wasn't on FF daily then I comeback to this!

Ace, the 5 door will get you more sleeper points as well as the uninitiated thinking it's just a slow Fiat then you show them different!

Can't wait for the pics.

Liam

Hmmm, interesting about the CD-changer - £250 does seem a tad steep; I was hoping to rip the one out from the Mondeo, but maybe not now.

Or I suppose I could go down the MP3 route with an FM modulator? Has anyone does this yet? I know a guy did it in his Ulysse.

At least I am not the only one the code-card - I will try and get it sorted.

Also found that by turning off the ASR and booting it from standstill, the car is more awesome ;) At moment, still tending to keep it in Auto mode, with override if necessary.

And to have 2 FIATS?! Madness, but at least I know my Ulysse is built in France and has an HDi engine :)

Lol @ DOG - I had already decided in my mind NOT to, after the drive into work this morning.

At least I ate up this Golf TDi trying to have me off Crick Roundabout under the M1 - that is priceless....:)

One quick phonecall to my local FIAT dealer, Motorvogue of Northampton, and all sorted.

Code card can be ordered, cost £1.95, but they need a chassis number.
Third year warranty [because car registered July '02, and had 2 dealer services] can be transferred to me for £23.50.

All this will be sorted on my visit on Saturday, when I take the Ulysse in for its first service, gulp!?

Overall, very helpful. Maybe being a current customer helped, as I kept stressing :)

Stu

Glad you've already blown away a Golf TDi that's one of my favourite past times!! Just think what you can do if you get it re-mapped?!

Also recommend a K&N 57i kit it makes the engine sound even more fabulous. We just need to see the pics now please...

Sorry guys, meant to take some pics tonight in the light once I got back from work, but ended up going to see a mate with it instead. Only got back 30mins ago....

SHOULD be tomorrow night, lol.

ggrrrr been waiting all day for them :D
Some of us have to work you know. Left the house ayt 7.15am, back in at 6.45pm with Chinese in hand, then out to Toys R Us, then home, then back out to a mates for a quick spin......aargh...............

I think you can pick the standard fit K&N elements up for about £35-40with the induction kits being roughtly double that.

I know the replacement element is a bitch to fit on the 1.6 as you have to get the car up on ramps to get at the air box - TC ended up getting our local dealer to fit it when he had his motor booked in for some work.

A busy man is the Stu! What did you get for yourself at Toys R US?

The Sun will probably have world exclusive pics tomorrow anyway! LOL

Induction would be awesome, I'm sure you could fit it in 15mins, thas taking it out of the box and having a tea break inbetween!

As for the re-map then alfanige would be the best to advise!

Pics pics pics pics pics!

Had to take back and replace Animal Hospital toy for my daughter ;)

All good stuff about the K&N - probably try remap first [already been in discussions with Nige], and then go on from there.

Still smiling :D

EDIT - had a look at the K&N 57i, looks like it is a mechanic job, plus needs to go on ramps. Still, definitely worth a look; may speak to insurance company first just in case.
