Stilo My Stilo Multiwagon JTD the S-Wagon lol

Introduction

Well if you have seen my other marea weekends and my old punto you will know this is just the start.

So after weeks of looking and after i was going to buy another car but i had to spend money on my house this popped up, from fellow forum member, i drove to birmingham to view it and left a deposit and collected it 2 weeks later, i am over the moon with it, just need to give it a good clean sort a couple of small niggles and then start on the mods, here are some pictures

and what a joy to drive, returning 60mpg and its very smooth and quick when it needs to be, my insurance was cheaper and my tax is very cheap. so now the modifications i have planned.

first up it will be lowered next month, then i shall re-furb the wheels in a anthacite colour, de-badge it, twin 3" exhuast for now, and then i shall probably leave it until teh winter is over, but my plan is too run rotiform blq wheels or xxr 527 wheels and get it stanced right, i am going to have the engine covers flocked and some of teh interior too, going to add a boost gauge and oil pressure gauge to the a pillar, and a volt and amp gauge to my cupholders, probably change teh gear knob for a new one and fit my drilled and grooved discs that i already have. then just get it really clean and enjoy it but thats my plans the wheels may not happen as i do like the wheels that are on there already, either way it will be clean and low.

cheers

how have you routed your boost pipe for your gauge , and how have you fixed it in ?

as im wating to put a gauge in mine , and dont know the best route to do it

i haven't actully got the boost feed in yet (too cold lol) but the route i will take will be behind the passenger a pillar, there is a hole there and then I am gonna drill into the intake pipe and use a revotec self sealing take off so i can attach the pipe to it i might actually do it over christmas as i have a couple of weeks off then

sounds about right, i was just curious.. My alfa is a jtdm and actually has a boost gauge as standard and i was quite surprised how much boost they ran, holds a bit above 1.2bar which would be around 20psi and yes spikes higher. No wonder modern diesels are quite quick, back in the day when TD's were like tractors most only ran 7 or 8psi.

depending what jtdm yours is it may run upto 1380mbar boost 1.38bar as requested and I used to see spikes and more so creep with tuning box and I think 1600mbar was the highest I ever saw on logging sessions but I have a vid of aftermarket boost gauge hitting 26psi or nearly 1.8 bar(that's usually why I recommend a boost gauge minimum for people who want to fit tuning box and with other mods like decats or intercoolers turbos can really be worked hard )
also im not sure what pipework is on the other jtd's but for my boost gauge take off I found (if carefull and accurate with drill and tap ) the plastic hard pipe is just thick enough to get a few threads and a good seal with a simple threaded hosetail.

I think it was 1/8"npt or some thing like as I already had a tap for it.
anyway been on there a few years with no issues(the valve above it is a aquarium valve, closes up to very small orifice ,test till it takes all the needle buzz out but still reacts quickly on needle, then I glued all fittings in valve)if its a mechanical gauge, look on youtube to see the sort of needle buzz you can end up with without some sort of restrictor or filter.
heres mine

this is the sort of buzz you may get with no restrictor

Loving this MW :D

Would love to do some of these mods (y)

Keep up the good work

Thanks Buddy, next up are the front brakes, i have the discs drilled and grooved already in the boot, just looking at different pads, and then i will hit it and get it done, i also have a twin back box in stainless steel that i was thinking of fitting but think i may go with a single outwardly rolled 3.5" box instead, and i have a cone filter, just need to order some silicon pipe and catch tank and that will be another job, just saving to get some lowering springs, although been measuring up vectra coilovers as i am pretty sure i can get them to fit, as that would make more sense :), should all be done for brooklands hopefully.

thanks

Robin

small update, got my boost gauge silicon hose and my self sealing pipe take off spout,

hope to have it plumbed in at the weekend.

i also have fitted a new gearknob, a little jdm yo, but its weighed and feel good, i will take a little of the gear leaver so the knob sits slightly lower though

and also got my cone filter, now i just need a catch tank to act as a vapour tank and then i can fit it, then it will be a case of fittinga proper catch can to get rid of the oily fumes and also silicon hoseing

also my dash has died, started it saturday morning working all fine, put my discklok in the boot got in the car and the clock was stuck at idle on the rev counter and the just says checking 11.35am so need to get them out and sent off.

i am hoping to have a good suspension update soon, looking forward to getting stuck in

cheers

the Jtds sound awsome with a cone filter on , i had one on mine for ages , Took it off becasue of the bad weather and lots of floods . the the filter is quite close to the floor

i keep meaning to buy a gauge and some pipe to get a boost gauge in :)

looking forward to fitting it buddy, i want to re do the whole hose from the turbo in silicon, and then have the cone filter sitting upright between the battery box and the engine :)

any updates on this , have you got your boost gauge fitted , any better pics ?

and can you link me to the Single pods you got please?

there is a update coming monday buddy, and then hopefully over the next few weeks will be more, the gauge pods are just universal double a pillar pods which i cut and hot glued in places then fillered and smoothed and then flocked

well updates have not really happened, we have had alot going on recently and just not got round to getting the bits done i wanted too, so suspension is still not fitted, and front brake discs are still in the box, but i did get the exhuast done, i had pipecraft in basildon do a back box delete, so back box off and straight stainless steel pipe section with a 3" finisher outwardly rolled. i am happy with it, seems to be a littler perkier and not noisy really just a burble which i am happy with.

Good lad ;) have you noticed any noise difference? I get a bit of a pow on gear changes but I have no cat or middle section ;) and did my back box at the sane time so didn't notice that much of a difference imo

i have a good sound at about 2000rpm upto 4000 rpm under load.... going through the dartford tunnel with my windows down gave it a nice sound.

plus a burble on idle... really do like it... may have the center section done in stainless steel with no box or a very small box, but to be honest it sounds nice as it is... not loud, just nice :)
