Nope that's the only one at anywhere near that price. I thought £78 was a rip-off but £140??!!!

If 2.15 is no good it may need to go back to Panda Camp plan B.

Edit 17.14 is £57 which is much more reasonable. I'm assuming this is the right route but John needs to confirm.

Oh poo!

If you can't do the whole weekend John consider bringing it down on the Sunday, or even any day next week?

yesterday there was a £78 at 14:45ish on the southwest trains website.

14:15 is too tight on time and if missed these cheap tickets aren't transferable :(

17:15 is a bit late really - wouldn't get home until nearly 10 and mum would be on her own too long.

Sunday would be good if I can get a train back OK.

Edit 15.15 train is £57.

I thought you had a free lift back on the Sunday?

That was if I came to camp next week. My brother's no longer available to stay with Mum so that's out I'm afraid.

Sunday should be a more relaxed drive and a cheaper ticket, as long as it's ok with you to get me to the station?

Are Selecta brakes meant to be either on or off with half an inch of travel?

Well we can certainly meet you at the workshop on the way back from Panda camp then take you to Alton station. I'm not sure what the camp agenda is for Sunday so can't give a time to meet at the moment.

Not even sure I got the right route until you confirm John - Trainline I was using as I have no idea about anything other than Chiltern Railways or London Underground (which doesn't help massively ;) ).

If you can confirm something with Vernon, then tell how & where to book the ticket (what route, which train, which website & how to arrange it so you can get tickets without my credit card), I'll do the paying bit. (y)

I just used SouthWest trains website selected Alton to York then selected times and hit check prices button.
I presume route is whatever the ticket says though I think it's up to 3 changes for Sunday! Appropriate tickets get printed on collection bit of a mystery train tour then.
Ah forgot about the using your card to collect tickets probably easier to paypal me the cost of the ticket when we figure out when!!!
VmanC is tomorrow the easiest option as still tax on the car?

Yes I did Alton to York but wasn't sure if that's actually where you are - some people have strange locations on their sig things, and some towns have more than one station (so I've been told, but towns are something to mistrust round these parts!!).

I may be able to pay & get ticket to you but depends on the website rules I think. If not I can always do a bank xfer direct to you - let me know when day/time clear & I'll give it a go......

We're not around this weekend so if you can manage tomorrow yes, it probably would be best.

Ok, only cheap ticket is for 17:14. (@£57)

this airport run - you coming back from it ? So I can leave a little later to save hanging round at the station for 3 hours? Don't suppose it matters too much looks like the cheapest way to do it.
:)

edit:
route is Alton to waterloo -tube to Kings x- Kings x to york. (oh dear god london in friday rush hour :yuck:)
Palio, five miles out of town but no station here so town works ok.

I won't be back from airport till about 6-6.30pm.

If I left as late as possible though I could drop you in Alton just before 4pm which will only leave you just over an hour to kill, not easy in Alton but not too painful either. ;)

Tried to book that ticket but apparently train to York is already full!

14:44 is available at £111.00 up to you Palio

Palio - Gavin - answer needed yeah or next week instead?

Means Vern needs to book MOT but probably better with cheap return for you.

Brace yourself - alternative plan L (part 2 b) coming up......

If you are happy driving long distances you could take the Selecta down to Vernon, bring Chiaro back up to me, then take Pinky up North for a few shows up there? A break here involving coffee and/or food is entirely possible.

What do you think?

Edit: otherwise we'll need to go with one of the less extortionate tickets please, whenever that can be done.

Wow, just when I thought it couldn't get any more complicated :D

Soo Pinky would end up here with me for a while?

I'm happy to do it but Mum has a few questions

How long here?

Is he insured?

Who drives him back?

and I presume he's running ok now?

1. How long do you want him? No time limit as far as I know but it would be good to get him to some shows if such things exist oop North!

2. I hope so as I've been driving him on my 3rd party extension - yes Vernon's got him insured.

3. Err not thought that far ahead yet........ TBC  There must be a plan somewhere - he could go North/South/East/West from you as long as Vernon knows where he is & the FF member using him has 3rd party extension for other cars (so we're talking more mature folk in the age sense only :p ).

4. Seems fine while I've used him. Bit grumpy when cold but that's just Panda's for you. I've driven him about 100 miles and no probs - actually very smooth and pretty quick.
