Grande Punto My Red Grande T-Jet (Daisy)

Introduction

I fell in love with it when i first saw it and knew it had to be mine.
Ive done a few small mods since owning it.
Xenon look headlight bulbs
Abarth mats
Yatour music changer
Chrome indicator bulbs in the headlights and side repeaters to get rid of the fried egg look
Forge motorsport induction kit
Powerflow backbox
De-wipered, de-badged

Im a big fan of keeping the car clean as well.
Future mods are coilovers and some different wheels.
Re-vinyl the A and B pillars as they are awful.
Vinyl the numberplate bit between the grills.

Anyhow, pictures from when i first got it, to now. (Nothings changed really  )
No :( not till next week. Didnt realise they werent from the UK

Until then Reuuk will just have to imagine what they'll love like with the red centre caps, we know there his favourite alloys on a GP ;)

I ordered from Amazon once without looking at the delivery date, turned out to be in two months! Needless to say the order was cancelled.

Swapped with someone today, they have some bad kurbing but they will be getting refurbished anyway.
I love this car too much to keep it standard.
Few more bits will be happening this year.

BUT.

This happened last week...

Nearside inner cv joint blew to pieces.

What caused it do you know?

Yeah, what caused it? I'm seeing mounting evidence of a weak point in the inner CV possibly passenger side only. Symptoms are a juddering at low revs in 4th and 5th which feels like an engine issue.

not uncommon on lowered VEEhickles ;)

Greek GP fella, is doing R+D work on long-term fixes whilst still LOW:cool:

From my experience, I don't think the problem is the low height from the start BUT when you CHANGE the height of the car AFTER a lot of miles.

This is happening because the inner cup has already a normal wear on a specific area and after lowering the car you change this "travel" area.

Then the tripod is traveling through a rough area and fails much faster.

Grease performance is also a crucial part in these cv joints (correct type, boot condition etc)

Ive got joms.
But, fk coilover rear springs and ive got no helpers in the front wound about 15 threads from.the bottom.
Id have them all the way down but because its a tjet it breaks driveshafts.

That's the exact combo I'm looking for!! Few questions, is it ok to take front help springs out? And also how did you get fk rear springs?
