Punto (Mk2/2b) My Punto 5 Door SPORTING TO BE!!

Introduction

hey guys and girls, i never really had the time to make a members motors post (well i did but it didnt work properly!)
Ok heres my punto when i got it 2 years ago
standard2.jpg

i bought it for £500 off my dads mate who said he needed a cheaper car for his son, Its a 1.2 16V engine 5 Speed gearbox wish 55k on the clock wish FSH and new clutch, coilpack and HT leads soo WIN! lol BUT it looks too old aged month later the headgasket goes!
3 days later i get another engine out of a bravo in the scrappy with 34k on the clock :)
Me being 18 i will obviously make it better!
1st thing to do (you ALL will disagree!) Lexarse lights!

now looking like a chav my next move was to remove the wheeltrims and paint them so i did and found a mate of mine that had a set of sporting skirts for sale THE SAME COLOUR!!!!!:slayer: lol

with the outside looking.......different i then tackled the inside so changed the colour of the dials and heater controls (the dash display is now blue, sorry this is an old pic!

Then i fit a sony xplod subwoofer 15'' with 2 300W 6x9's

At this time my mate smashed my gearbox by wheelspinning it and yanking the handbrake!
Luckily his bro just crashed his 8v on the snow last year so he gave me his gearbox lol

then i bought a set of 50mm Eibatch springs and Blisten Shocks! I managed to talk to a mate at the local pub saying his mate has a set of active sport alloys for sale and are powercoated in black for £120 inc good tyres so i bought them and painted the drums black and the calipers yellow lol(y)

Next i put a Air filter on and moved it out of the way of the radiator :D

My oil breather was split anyway so i used some blue pipe and cut a hole into the intake pipe :) this made the car sound very throaty! i like it alot!!!

a month later i decided to tint my lexarse lights and put on a powerflow cat back exhaust system! ive got to say they have made a HUGE improvement on how the car looks and drives!

for some reason ive noticed my car has started to 'Rasp' when i put my foot down after i put this backbox on. but heres a pic of my punto now and my mates Abarth grande lol I have just recently debadged the blue fiat bit and looks very clean

TO DO LIST!
Sporting seats
6 speed box
Sporting centre console
Sporting Spoiler
Looking for a fast road clutch....
detango headlights

hope you like it lol, in my opinion it dosent looked aged anymore!:slayer:
thanks mate!
got my vl37 turbo today to compare the diferences and i got the vl37 dirt cheap so its worth a shot
on first inspection they are the same

after abit of dismantling the only thing different it the turbe and housing!
VL36 turbine on the left

VL36 turbo housing on the VL37

you can really tell the difference in size from this pic lol

VL37 housing on the left, notice how much smaller the intake hole is, this is great news! buy a vl37 turbo for cheap if your vl36 is leaking oil, mark where the turbines were and switch the two turbines and housings over!

can i have veiws on my turbine off the vl36? the edges of the fins look sligtly damaged, but is it still reuseable?

UPDATE :D
Fitted a spoiler!!!!
was already in primer, painted it myself using aerosols lol
Aftermarket - bigger than a sporting spoiler, i took a random guess as the pic of the spoiler wasnt 100% but when it came it was exactly how i wanted it to look!
in primer before i keyed the paint
Photo-0073.jpg

4 base coats and 3 layers of laquers and i got the perfect paint match!!!

I LOVE IT! the back needed abit of styling!

Wonderfully inspirational thread! (y)

There's some great photography on there, as well... -- and I don't think anyone can blame you for being so proud of the Punto: you've put more blood, sweat and tears into it, by the look of things, than many of us do with a lifetime of cars...

Hope all is working well, now, by the way.

PS: This may be too late, but wouldn't re-use the old turbo blades... -- had one commit suicide in my old Isuzu: and it took out a whole load of stuff with it.... Not pretty. Not fun.

PPS: Prefer the Sporting front bumper -- which I may get round too, one day! Also wondered how you got on with the three-door seats in a five-door. Apart from the levers to slide them forwards, anything worth noting...? Ta! ;)

the car broke down today!
the nut for the gearbox mount worked loose and came off while driving, managd to coast into a car park opend the bonnet and the driveshaft has popped out too! (all the little runner bearings had come out!)
My superhero mate came over with a spanner set and a led torch and followed the road till we found the missing nut!
i dont think she is happy with me anymore after buying another car :(

Car parts!

...after the repair wento for a posing shot!

I'm now insanely jealous... -- on both counts...! ;)

I've been really struggling to find a Scilla Rosso scrappy to plunder... -- plus that "posing shot" makes me realize just how badly I'm doing.... (Mind you, I shall stick with the excuse of being laid-up after a recent kidney op, for as long as I possibly can...!)

The fuel and temperature guage lights dont work :(

But i do think it looks good :)

As for scrappy red's i think there was 1 in my scrappy not long ago, always getting punto's in now - alot are just hitting that age :(
Like a immaculate white one - just needed a dam good clean and polish - it'd of been awesome :)

the fuel and temp gauges work lol but it depends on how many revs the car is doing! i think the battery/alternator hasnt got enough current when on idle, especially with my sound system bumpin in the boot!(y)
