Panda My Panda

Introduction

Just thought I'd share with you some photos of my 100HP, Basil! :)
Took a few obligatory snaps last week after I cleaned him.
With the help of people on this forum I've been able to change the headunit and speakers and today I've changed the headlights, sidelights and indicator bulbs! These pics were taken last week though so you won't see the new bulbs in them, and the weather was horrible today so definitely wasn't worth taking the camera out.

Would like some aero wipers now, and red brake calipers! :D

I've included a pic of my new headunit and also the ipod interface which i've routed into the glovebox.
Cheers! The only other thing I would do if I had the money is get some nice matt black 16" alloys. I think I would just finish the car off, especially on a white one!

Some people are just spraying the existing wheels themselves and gotta say it looks really smart! James100hp has done it so check his out and see what you think...that might be a cheap but by no means 'tacky' way of doing what you want (y)

I was thinking about doing that but didn't want to do too much to it to alter it from standard spec. Obviously the audio etc is ok as I can put the original stuff back in if I ever come to sell it. Not that I can see any reason why black alloys would put anybody off as they'd look awesome!

What sort of product should I be looking at getting if I want to do it myself? To be honest I'm not sure I'd want to do something like that myself. Would there be somewhere local to me that would sort it out for me?

lol hit the nail on the head there mate! It's such a tasteful mod that it would more than likely appeal to people instead of scare them off!!

Well there's 2 options really...

first one is that you can try and get some sort of wheel/metal paint and do it yourself. It wouldn't be a hard job particularly, just fiddly and you'd have to take all the wheels off the car for at least half a day if you wanted to do a good job of it!! Not sure if you'd need primer after you'd cleaned the wheels but you'd definately need some sort of fixing paint to lock the paint onto wheel after.Problem with this is you have to reapply the paint every other month or so to keep them looking perfect but it's not a bad Mod at all to try yourself!

Or you can look around for a local 'powder coating' specialist. They'll do your wheels probably for between £100 and £250 quid (i know it's a large margin but i've never had it done so i'm just going on what i've been told!) They'll paint your wheels any colour you want and it shouldn't take more than a day. The finish is awesome and you don't have to worry about doing it yourself obviously!

Even the phrase "powder coating" makes it sound like it will have an awesome finish! I think I might ask around and see what sort of quotes I get, it's definitely something I'd like done. And they can paint my calipers red whilst the wheels are off! Job done haha.

Lovely looking 100HP mate :yum:

Black wheels would look superb against the white paint and some red callipers to top it all off :D

A professional refurb in matte black is likely to set you back approximately £50 a corner - This should include removing the tyre and weights, fully cleaning up the wheel and then refurbishing and colour changing the wheel before refitting the tyre and rebalancing (putting the weights back on).

Do a search on Yell.com for wheel refurbishment in your area.

Look forward to more updated pics.
