Ooh the good old days of cars with character. I was thinking that exact same thing before I bought the car custard, they have gone slightly retro with this one which is ok by me, it's those sharp lines that I love :D

@Dazza, Cheers matey (y) I'll take you for a blast sometime eh ;)

Yeah that would be cool mate

I would like one in black! but I dont think they do it in that colour

Nice car there Korrang, absolutely gorgeous the best car since GM produced the Omega and Lotus Carlton. Been boring since, but that......wow, looks great. Given me ideas for the Nubira. Top notch car.....totally jealous.

Matt
Thanks Matt (y)
I quite like the Vectra VXR too, and the 220, in fact all their vxr range are really rather nice, the zafira needs a wider track to look the part imo though.

this thread not dead yet?

Looks superb. Glad you're loving it (y)
Thanks Dave. I am completely overwhelmed with the car to be honest.

Had some guy up my arse in a Cav SRi going around a bend onto a DC, he pulled into the outside lane to go around me and I floored it in the corner  unbelievable, left him like he was standing still :D I then slowed down to let the guy catch up and he put his thumb up, I think he just wanted to see what it could do :worship:

Ooh yeah, I forgot to mention, someone asked about MPG on the Astra and I am getting an average of just under 22mpg and I'm driving it as hard as I would the stilo but going a hell of a lot faster for it. Stilo gave me around 17mpg

2.0T 4cyl vs lazy, but smooth 2.4 5 pot ;)
To be honest I don't think the selespeed box helps with driving economically, and going back to a clutch and getting that control back is a lot smoother. I love the fact that even when cold it can be driven smoothly, everything is under my control, no more putting my foot down and waiting for the car to move when it feels like it.

You could probably get rather good economy out of it if you were just driving it around town quite slowly id imagine. Wouldnt really need to come on boost then. But wheres the fun in that!?

And have driven loads of semi autos and autos etc i just prefer having a clutch and gearstick more involving to drive smoother better response (generally are expceptions) usually quicker and give better mpg at the same time.

Well I'll try really hard tomorrow to drive calmly and see what I get then. Even when trying hard in the Stilo I was only getting around 20mpg so it was never worth the effort, I preferred to have fun. :chin:

Thats the only problem i have with my C4 my engine is really uneconomical let other people drive it and no one can get it above 28mpg.

So i know its not just my driving i usually get around 24-25mpg which from a 1.6 is bloody low. It wouldnt cost me much more to run something with a much more powerful engine and id be happier at the same time. Just the insurance problems that i have due to where i live and my age and driving experiance.

see now im just upset lol. You get the same MPG as me in a 2 litre turbo with over 240bhp as i do in a 110bhp 1.6...
