Yeah, I'll be taking a few videos but more so to actually show the car rather than show it's power, you need a race track for that :)

These video's do everything to show how much power and poise the car has got at speeds, first one here was posted a few pages back but it's worth seeing again, it's a standard opel opc/astra vxr 240ps doing the ring in a very repectable time, something like 15 seconds faster than the ST done it.

This is a bit more flashy, just cut scenes of that drive and stuff.

This one is the whole lap from inside the car with telemetry

:yum: , you car looks beautiful, red suits it. Do you feel the turbo kick in or is it smooth ?

that video with the telemetry is sweet, the car is incredibly fast. Do you know how fast the Alfa 147 GTA did it ?

Thanks Johny, I think red is the best colour for the astra vxr. The black interior just contrasts it so well.
Not sure about the Alfa 147 GTA, I'll see if I can find out because that would be interesting.

As for the turbo kicking in, the power delivery is very smooth but really forces you back into the seat I love it :D

To be honest, the car is perfectly fine as it is and there is more than enough power, so I'm just going for the stage 2 tuning of the zorst remap and filter, any more than that will just be getting silly and a lot more expensive. Got a remap booked for a RR day on the 29th April. So far there's around 16 various vxr's goin in for the RR and a couple for the remap.

well I have been getting an average of 25mpg today and that's driving economically but putting my foot down a little bit here and there.

That still doesn't sound brilliant to be honest, some of our pursuit volvos manage 28mpg & I'm sure they're a lot heavier than yours. Mind you you have just bought it! I'll shut up now. How many miles have you got till it's run in?

:) 25 is loads better than I could have wished for TBH, I am even happy with anything over 18 so I don't mind :)
Running in  What's that :D

Do they bench test them now then? So you don't have to run them in?

I have been informed some time ago that they do indeed, but that's going on information from this forum, not necessarily an inside source. I have heard that they do get better after a couple of thousand miles on them too but that's the same for most engines isn't it ?

New engines dont have to be run in as such. They just get better as the mileage gets higher the clio engines in the 182 etc dont get great till way past the 20k mark. Some of them in the 80k mak are supposed to be the quicker ones your not gonna run an engine in for 80,000 miles lol.

Plus a lot of people say when ya get a new engine. Ragged it as much as possible if you can find a place where you can gun it from idle to top in 4th keep doing it.

I have heard that they do, although I'm sure it won't loosen up until around 30k though. Nice wheels BTW!;)

Thankyou, they have locking nuts and the car has a tilt sensor so don't get any ideas eh ;) :D

I am actually thinking of modding the wheels slightly, I done a few photoshops and I am very tempted :chin:

Graphite/anthracite?:yum: Just don't do them white!(n)

Gloss black spokes or dark graphite, what do you think of these ?

Should add at least 5bhp :chin:

Graphite would look best IMO, but either go well enough
